Lukla (2,840 m) is where the Everest Base Camp Trek begins and ends. After eleven days on the trail, your final mountain night is spent in a comfortable lodge a few minutes’ walk from Tenzing-Hillary Airport, ready for the early morning flight back to Kathmandu.

You arrive on Day 12 after the long walk down from Namche Bazaar, back across the Hillary Suspension Bridge and through Phakding. In the evening we share a celebration dinner with the whole crew and say goodbye to our porters. On Day 13 you fly back to Kathmandu. Read more about Lukla.

What the lodge is like

Lukla has some of the best lodges in the region: twin rooms, often with attached bathrooms, hot showers, Wi-Fi and charging, and a warm dining room. Shops, cafes and even a bakery or two are a short walk away. Nights are around 0°C in the main seasons.

Tips for your stay

• Pack your bag the night before: Lukla flights leave early in the morning.
• Keep your checked bag within the 15 kg baggage limit.
• Tipping your guide and porters is customary; your guide can advise on amounts.
• If weather delays your flight, we rebook you on the next one; keep buffer days before your flight home.
